The Best Day Tours in Thailand

650 words/5:00 minutes reading time

This is going to be a BIG blog. Here we are going to highlight 11 Day Trips we think will make the perfect experience when visiting Thailand. The tours are divided into Adventure Tours, Food and Drink Tours, and finally Culture, History, and Art Tours.

So, let’s get started.

Adventure Tours

  1. Hiking in the Doi Inthanon National Park (8 Hours)

Close to Chiang Mai, this tour takes you to Thailand’s tallest peak. Here you will see waterfalls, rice paddy fields, a rainforest boardwalk, and the Mae Cham Valley.

  1. Biking and Kayaking Sri Lanna National Park (8 Hours)

Mountain biking through countryside villages in the morning and kayaking on a nearby lake in the afternoon, and with a lunch break on a floating restaurant this type of ‘adventure’ seems quite relaxing.

  1. Northern Thai Tuk Tuk Trails (7:30 Hours)

Cycle through the Chiang Mai countryside, lunch at a sustainable elephant home, and then float down the river on a bamboo raft.

Food and Drink Tours

  1. Bite and Site in the Village of Love (4 Hours)

Walk through Bangrak, one of Bangkok’s more famous neighborhoods, and get acquainted with the smells and sounds of the iconic shops and stalls serving up some quintessential culinary culture.

  1. Bangkok After Night (4:30 Hours)

Drive by tuk-tuk through the Talad Noi and Yaowarat regions of Bangkok at night as sample cocktails while overlooking the Chao Praya River before digging into satay skewers, pad thai noodles, and pork belly and sticky rice, and then finishing the night with some more drinks in some of the coolest cocktail bars around.

  1. Northern Nights, Chiang Mai (5 Hours)

Sip cocktails by the Ping River, try your hand at bartering at local shops in the famous night bazaar, and then end the evening with a delightful dinner at one of Chiang Mai’s top restaurants.

Culture, History, and Art Tours

  1. Treasures of Ayutthaya (8 Hours)

This tour takes you to Thailand’s old capital city of Ayutthaya to see royal gardens, a floating pavilion, palace ruins, lunch with a view of red brick temples, and a famous statue of Buddha’s head at Wat Mahathat, all with stops for tea and coffee in the UNESCO Heritage site of this ancient city.

  1. Regal Heritage of Bangkok (7 Hours)

Visit a prince’s private retreat, before taking in lunch with a view of the Temple of Dawn, then hop a private river boat to explore ceremonial royal barges at a museum tucked away in the Bangkok Noi Canal.

  1. Gardens and Old Communities of Bangkok (4 Hours)

This lovely little tour takes you through a flower market, a sky garden of plum trees, crown flowers, orchids, and marigolds, all while passing through small local markets and past a Confucian temple and mosque.

  1. Discover Creative Bangkok (4 Hours)

This tour takes you walking through alleys and lanes and shows you local street art, and gives you a chance to meet local designers, creators, and artisans working in Bangkok’s art district.

  1. Tribal Tour of Chiang Mai

An hour outside of Chiang Mai you can visit a local village bursting with the local culture of the indigenous tribespeople. Here you can see how the local agricultural system works, learn about their local practices and medicine, eat a freshly prepared meal, and visit with a local Shaman.

Of course, there are a lot of different options to choose from on this list — that is why we made it after all. And that is the reason behind it, to give the choice to pick and choose and create your own itinerary. After all, you might want to just go with the flow while you travel.

However, if you want a more specific type of itinerary there are even more tours to choose from if you are looking for something that runs anywhere from 3-days to two weeks long. Just click here to see a list of the longer tours
