EXO Travel is a great tour operator with services all over Asia, and while there are tons of tours to choose from, we think these 5 are the best place to start.

  1. Family Rainforest Kayak and Orangutans (8 Hours)

Located in the state of Sarawak on Borneo Island in the Eastern part of Malaysia close to the city of Kuching, this tour is great for families. Here you will paddle through the forest to the Semenggoh Wildlife Center where you will see orangutans for their feeding time. Along the way, you will also see local rice, cocoa, rubber, and pepper farms.

  1. Fauna, Flora, and Culture of Sarawak (9:30 Hours)

While in Sarawak it can also be a good idea to experience some local culture and understand more about this part of Malaysia. Also located in Semenggoh Wildlife Center with your tour you can also see orangutans and local farms. Additionally, there is the chance to see a traditional longhouse, understand the importance of bamboo in everyday life, visit a waterfall for a swim, stop by a local school, and see artisan mat weaving, plus lots of nature and wildlife. This is a great pairing for the tour mentioned above.

  1. Kota Belud Wonders (14 Hours)

Located in Kota Belud, in the state of Sabah, also on the island of Borneo in Eastern Malaysia, this tour is great for beach lovers. Here you can hang out on white sands and turquoise waters, visit the little-known Pandan Pandan Island, go snorkeling, and sightsee with Proboscis monkeys, all while sipping tea and eating local BBQ throughout the day.

  1. Ethnic Bidayuh Cooking Class (9:30 Hours)

Another great tour in Sarawak at the Semenggoh Wildlife Center, here you can learn from local farmers about their produce and spend the day with them learning how their gastronomical culture works. You will be invited to learn about the many different utilities of bamboo as well as some surprising ingredients that are used in the area.

  1. The Elephant Project (18 Hours)

Also in the state of Sabah, on this tour, you can go to see the Ulu Kalumpang Forest and Ulu Segama Malua Forest. Here you will be able to see a diverse amount of wildlife. The main highlights are the Borneo pygmy elephants indigenous to the region, but there are also the chances to see orangutans, sambar deer, sun bears, and rhinoceros hornbills, among much more.
