Family Travel is back with a Force

Family Travel is back with a Force

Typically when we think of traveling we imagine a getaway for two or an adventure with some friends. Perhaps some of us imagine going it alone in some remote land, or maybe we think quite the opposite and see travel as part of work. Either way, there is one group of people aside from that special someone, friends, colleagues, or us just being solo that is left out of the travel imagination all too often. And, that is family travel. That is why we want to highlight the great opportunities that are out there for families to enjoy.

First, the article 10 Hotels That Will Make You Feel Like You’re at Summer Camp highlights 10 locations on five different continents with locations in the Adirondacks, Wyoming, France, Uruguay, and New Zealand. One hotel is a giant treehouse, one is a mountain exploration in Africa, and one is an old castle in Scotland. Either way, this list is a great place to get started for hotels that are known to embrace that family spirit.

Second, we want to share the article Five Family-Friendly Beach Destinations We Love highlights beaches in Santa Monica, Playa del Carmen, Scotland, Spain, and South Carolina. The Inn & Club at Harbour Town at The Sea Pines Resort offers golf and is situated right on the beach. Marbella, Spain, is situated on the Sun Coast, or Costa del Sol, in Andalusia — which is a great place for multigenerational travel; while Santa Monica, CA is a great spot for young families, St. Andrews, Scotland is a great location for older families, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico is a great way to introduce teens to travel.

Third, the article Family Vacations and Destination Weddings are Back in Business, is jam-packed with some of the best family travel plans, including all-inclusive travel, beaches, education, wedding, honeymoon, and adventure. Now, this article has 44 different locations to share with you, so while we cannot share all of those here, we will share some of the locations that we think stand out the most.

For all-inclusive travel, there is Royal Caribbean Cruises, which is now offering 30% off every guest and for kids to travel for free. Quite an extraordinary offer for a cruise line that has been rated the best for 18 years in a row by Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards. Next, we would like to mention the Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz. A great place to take the kids skiing in the winter or hiking for the summer. Either way, no one forgets their time in the Alps. Finally, and a little closer to home is the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grand Lakes, in Florida. Here you are close to Americas amusement park haven and a great place for a holiday trip to seek warm weather.

For beaches, we suggest staying in California, the Bahamas, and Mexico. First, in Dana Point, CA is the Waldorf-Astoria at Monarch Beach, which is now offering every third night for free until Dec. 31st, 2022. Second, is The Reef at Atlantis in the Bahamas, which has “21 restaurants, 19 bars and lounges, world-class shopping, and a 30,000-square-foot spa. More than 50,000 marine animals from 250 species can be viewed in 14 exhibit lagoons. Family-friendly amenities include Atlantis Kids Adventures, CRUSH for teens, and a 141-acre water park with 11 unique pools, waterslides, river rides, and memorable marine experiences.” Finally, there is the One&Only Palmilla, in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico — which also has some nice offers, along with snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding.

For those seeking a trip with an educative bent, we want to highlight the company Family Twist, which offers tours that range from 2 hours to 4 days all over France, Italy, Great Britain, and Spain. These tours are a great way to take in the information of the cities and areas you visit and the chance for travel to do one of the things it does best, which is open our eyes.

Now, adventure travelers will be happy now that there are some nice options for them as well — the companies highlighted here are Big Five Tours, which offers tours to Patagonia, Bhutan (yes, Bhutan!), Costa Rica, and more. As well, there is Lindblad Expeditions, which offers cruises to Alaska, Galapagos, the Artic, California, and more, and even further, is now offering several promotions. Finally, Backroads offers safaris, river and ocean cruises, biking, and winter sports adventures.

Finally, we have to mention the abundance of options for those seeking a destination wedding or who are looking to spend their honeymoon in a distant land. From Jamaica to Singapore, Ireland, Bora Bora, and the Maldives, and Monaco — there is an option to make that most special of days even more memorable.
